“Refreshingly Clear and Biblically Robust.”
“This was an excellent book! It is refreshingly clear and maintains biblical depth and priority. As a pastor, I was greatly helped by this book, but it would be beneficial for believers of every walk and education level. Encouraged to press into multiplication and deeply relational discipleship for the glory of God. I plan to re-read this with regularity.”

“Everything you need to know about how to impact the world for generations.”
“In a world inundated with get-rich-quick schemes, acceleration programs, and one-pill solutions, Dr. David Nelson explores what it means to do ministry that will last beyond our lifetime. It is refreshing to read a book from someone who has lived out the gospel throughout his life and around the world. The number of stories, examples, and biblical knowledge of Greek brings a cohesive message to pastors and leaders. I know this book will impact others like it did me. It also provides great discussion questions if you want to use it for a small group or ministry team.”

“A Manual for Multiplying Leaders.”
"A veritable manual for leadership training, this book is based on authoritative Scripture and birthed from credible experience. As the daily need for better-equipped leaders deepens and widens, nothing short of a divinely orchestrated multiplying of servants of God will address the mounting deficits in knowledge, affection, and skills for local church ministry. Read this book to lay a foundation and then build your efforts to enhance pastoral health and advance church health, especially where Christ's church is growing."

“Biblical Wisdom for Long-Term Impact.”
"Serving on the Crossing Cultures International Board of Directors for close to 10 years, I have come to know and appreciate Dr. David Nelson's passion for the gospel and his leadership of CCI's strategy for accomplishing the Great Commission. But equally impactful on my life has been our friendship and the interests we share, such as distance running and church planting. As I watch him 'lead by example,' we experience God's blessing on CCI for implementing His strategies for reaching the world for Christ. As such, when his book Multiply was published, I consumed it with great interest and expectation. I was not disappointed. Through its pages and its application of biblical truth and principles, I found an efficient, entertaining, story-driven, practical exposition and application of strategies relevant and much needed in today's church and Christian culture.
After decades of serving in church leadership and currently serving in a senior leadership role in a church re-start in Tennessee, I found great relevance and practical guidance in Multiply, not so much as primary teaching topics (although they certainly could be), but as Biblical strategies running in the background and guiding the prioritizing and intended outcomes of all we think we need to do, timeless principles and high-level goals to incorporate into all our people, programs, and events. As taken from the life and ministry of Jesus and seeing the early church's qualities, we can gain much from prioritizing core values such as care for people over programs, multiplication over addition, patience over immediate results, resisting the urge to chase the next shiny object (or strategy), deep before wide, the power of a Godly role model, and the sometimes forgotten value, especially in our disconnected culture, of influence through a close personal relationship costing us our most precious commodity—time.
I have provided David's book to our church leaders and staff and asked them to inculcate the principles articulated in Multiply into all aspects of their ministries. Looking to God and being patient for His harvest, I am thankful for Multiply as a resource to return to again and again for continuing to keep us on track and on mission for Jesus for years to come. Thank you, David, for your life and work."

"Excellent tool for sermon or teaching preparation."
“I find this a practical, Gospel-centered commentary interwoven with sound exposition. Dr. David Nelson’s insightful verse-by-verse exegesis of the text and analytical outline are excellent tools for preachers and Bible teachers in their sermon or teaching preparation. This is also a great resource for personal studies, which helps sharpen believers’ focus on Christ alone in this pluralistic society. I appreciate Dr. Nelson’s contribution to our understanding of Colossians, that Christ is magnificent beyond comparison, and that He is sufficient. I wholeheartedly recommend it to all.”

"Practical. Foundational. Christ-centered."
“Living in the world mixed up with religions, worldviews, and theologies, Christians need to be guided deeply in knowledge and protected in faith so that they stand true in Christ alone. This book is practical and simply mandatory reading for anyone who is interested in growing in the understanding of Christ’s deity. I commend this book most warmly and pray that in turn it will contribute to students who could learn and pastors who would preach and train their congregations through Colossians.”

“Theological Depth with Practical Application.”
“Dr. David Nelson has written a concise and very practical commentary for all the students, pastors, and leaders on the Book of Colossians. Each section of the commentary is very clearly explained in its contextual and historical setting. Dr. Nelson has taken extra care to explain most of the Greek words used in the Book of Colossians with their proper meaning. The application section is very practical and useful. This commentary is theological, insightful, practical, and helpful. Dr. Nelson, through his commentary, has clearly explained the theme of Colossians, ‘The Supremacy and Pre-eminence of Christ.” I strongly recommend this commentary for all the students, pastors, and Christian leaders involved in various ministries. I praise God for this work and thank you for all your hard work.”

“More Than Facts—A Call to the Nations.”
“When a missionary explains one of Paul’s mission letters, personal passion and missions urgency bleed through on every page. Dr. David Nelson, who has faithfully served Christ’s church by extending its mission around the globe, expounds Colossians in real time. The names, circumstances, and challenges might well be those Dr. Nelson encounters daily in his ministry of leading Crossing Cultures International. Read this commentary and you will hear more than biblical facts; you will hear the heartbeat of a missionary.”

“A Model of Systematic Bible Study.”
“Dr. David Nelson has written an excellent commentary on Colossians. He not only informs, but also equips the student of Scripture with a model of systematic bible study. Each verse is analysed in its cultural, grammatical, and historical context. This commentary is concise and filled with insightful observations, informed interpretation, and practical applications. Our Lord’s commission to make disciples of Jesus Christ unfolds clearly in this study of Colossians.”

“Exegesis with Power and Clarity.”
“Dr. Nelson has produced a rich commentary on the book of Colossians. The exegesis is thorough yet not painfully exhaustive. Dr. Nelson has communicated Paul's Spirit-inspired intent with thunderous power and applicational clarity. Most importantly, the Cosmic Christ is rightly, accurately, and vividly displayed as the full and preeminent Lord of Majesty! This Christocentric message is desperately needed in our culture, as it is in every generation. God will be glorified as His Church prayerfully digests this work. I trust that all believers who read it will find their every faculty catapulted into Christ-magnifying worship and awe.”

“Truth That Shapes Communities.”
“David Nelson’s commentary on the book of Colossians brings into living color the key truths of this concise, wisdom-packed, Christ-focused, community-transforming work. His capacity to parse key words, ideas, and spiritual treasures comes out page after page of this Pauline epistle. David is the real deal. For him, the book is not something just to mine its rich truths, but to take such incredible insights and help to see communities all over the world formed around them. He is at once a biblical theologian, a community-forming practitioner, and a global equipper of the nations. And it is done in humility and sacrificial service for the Lord Jesus. Read, then re-read, slow it down, digest slowly, and allow these insights to shape your soul and those you are called to impact. And may God be glorified as we all together bring Colossians to life in the 21st century, no matter the culture.”
