Focus Optical
Satisfaction Policy
At Dr. Nelson’s office, “We focus
on you.” We
strive to provide the highest quality eyewear and service. Your
lenses are a custom-made prescription fit into the frame you choose.
Often times your eyes will need some time to adjust to a new prescription,
especially if this is your first pair of glasses or the prescription
has changed. Please be patient with your eyes and wear the glasses
as directed by Dr. Nelson and his staff. We will work with you
to adjust your new eyewear so that it fits properly and you see
clearly. We want you to be satisfied and proud to wear your new
glasses. Please let us know of any concerns with your glasses within
30 days of receiving them. We guarantee that your prescription
will be made accurately according to your doctor’s prescription.
Lenses All of our lenses have a 12-month warranty against scratches acquired during normal use. Additional scratch warrenty can be purchased. Antireflection coatings such as Crizal® and Avance'® provide additional scratch protection and warrenty. We provide single vision, lined bifocal and trifocal lenses and progressive (lineless) lenses. We feature state-of-the art lenses that minimize “swim” and distortion in the bottom portion of your lineless bifocal. Lenses such as Physio 360®, Definity® (www.definity.com), and Shamir Creation® (www.shamir.com) offer the best optics for distance, intermediate and near vision.
Antireflective lenses
will help you see better, feel better and look better. We choose
Crizal® and Crizal Alize’ with
Clearguard® antireflective lenses for our patients. (www.crizal.com).
Crizal lenses are virtually invisible and reduce glare from headlights,
computer screens and overhead lights to give you crisper vision.
Crizal Alize’ with Clearguard lenses resist scratches,
fingerprints and dust and are easier to clean than any other
lens.
For those of you who lead an active outdoor life or drive
in the sun a lot, you may want to consider Transitions®,
polarized or Drivewear® lenses. Transitions lenses get dark
while outside in direct sunlight, then change to almost clear
when you go inside
(www.transitions.com).
Polarized lenses are the clearest, darkest,
most glare-resistant sun lenses available. If you spend many
hours outdoors boating,
fishing, biking or watching ballgames, polarized lenses are for
you. Once you have a pair of polarized lenses, you will never
be without them again.
Drivewear® is the newest lens technology.
Drivewear is a polarized Transitions lens which gets darker than
the traditional Transitions
lens behind the windshield of a car. The Drivewear lens always
maintains a tint, even for overcast driving (www.drivewearlens.com).

Corneal Refractive Therapy
Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) is
a process, which uses rigid gas permeable contact lenses
to flatten
the surface
of the
cornea to correct nearsightedness during the
day. CRT is an FDA-approved
lens procedure to change the shape of the cornea.
The patient will wear the contact lenses overnight
and
take them out
in the morning.
Some patients find it possible to wear the
contact lenses every other night to maintain good vision.
CRT only works
on nearsighted
patients with a small amount of astigmatism.
CRT is FDA-approved for treatment up to the following
prescription:
-6.00 –1.25
x180.
If you are interested in CRT, Dr. Nelson
will evaluate your eyes to determine if CRT
will
work for you.
The cost of the
evaluation
is $25. If you decide to go ahead with the
CRT process, the $25 will be applied toward
the fitting
fee. The
fitting process
will
take about one hour. When you receive your
contact lenses, you will be instructed on
insertion, removal and care
of the contact
lenses. In general, Dr. Nelson sees his CRT
patients
for follow up visits one day, three days,
one week, one month,
three months
and six months after the patient receives
the contact lenses in the first year.

Dr. Nelson will refund
